Annie Pham

Annie Pham; B.S., Chemistry; B.S., Biology; 2005.

Annie is now a graduate student at UCSD in Chemistry. She worked for the Janda group as an undergraduate in the clathrate hydrate research from 2003 to 2005. She synthesized and studied pure and mixed clathrate hydrates made with propane and methane gases with Minhtam Vu (undergraduate student) and Melissa Prado (graduate student). I am a retired High School teacher with 33 years experience. I am acquianted with the California State Science Standards. My duties consist of planning and implementing laboratory experiments for the high school level based on clathrate hydrate research work conducted in the Janda lab at UCI. We have developed and tested several laboratory activities that deal with clathrate hydrates. Most of the information that is discussed in the lab activities deals with change-of-state topics mentioned in the State Science Standards.

The labs and the support materials are available to local High School Chemistry Teachers. I am also available as a resource to any physical science teacher in Los Angeles, San Diego and Orange Counties.

Chemistry Instructor, K-12; Newport Harbor High School.

I am a full-time high school science teacher and keeping up-to-date in the latest research is an important task. Currently, I am working with the Janda clathrate hydrate team to incorporate the latest research in the hydrate field into my chemistry curriculum. The Janda team has prepared clathrate hydrate laboratory activities which I will use in my high school classrooms.
