Education:

B.S. Biology & Chemistry, Chapman University, CA, May 2003

Current Research Interests:

Tentative research plans are to work with research associate Filip Sulc utilizing electrochemical and photochemical techniques to monitor both reactivity and catalysis behavior in nitrosyl and nitroxyl complexes of modified porphyrins and heme proteins. Changes in reactivity will be examined by reconstituting into apomyoglobin (porphyrin ring with iron complex removed) photoactive transition metals such as Osmium and Ruthenium as potential candidates. The binding of these metal species will allow us to photo-initiate electron transfer into the heme active-site of myoglobin, and to control the reactions at those sites which occur on a nanosecond to picosecond laser-pulse time-scale.

Other Interests / Hobbies:

Skiing, Basketball, Badminton, Waterpolo, Hiking in the Central & Southern California Mountains.
