Current Research Interests:
My research interest involves in the oxidation study of metal-bound dithiocarbamate (DTCs).  DTCs are widely used as pesticides (Fe, Zn-bound DTC), treatment of alcohol aversion therapy (disulfiram), and anti-oxidants in chemotherapy.  Even though DTCs have numerous applications, its bioactivity has not yet been understood explicitly.  Therefore, I am focusing on studying the mechanism of S-oxygenation/peroxidation of the metal-bound DTC using simple chemical models.  By using different inert transition metals, oxidizing agents, or changing different conditions, in time, a large quantity of active intermediate species will be isolated and followed by characterization.
