About the program

AirUCI Institute has been offering an accredited two-week summer training program for science school teachers since 2005, funded by the National Science Foundation. The program consists of lectures by the AirUCI faculty members  in the mornings followed by laboratory or computer work in the afternoons. The lab work primarily focuses on environmental problems. The program features a $1000 stipend, free lunches, and free UCI parking. It is equivalent to six quarter credit units administered through the UCI Extension. To learn more about this program please refer to a presentation about this program made by Prof. Sergey Nizkorodov at the 2008 National Academies' Chemical Sciences Roundtable (CSR) workshop "Strengthening High School Chemistry Education through Teacher Outreach Programs".

Registration for 2010 is now open.  To register for the 2010 program please refer to the instructions on this website.
